Minister of Civil Aviation Samir Imbabi recently held a series of meetings with officials and employees of the aviation sector. He wanted to listen to their problems and views, assess the situation and the current critical circumstances that aviation in Egypt is facing. These meetings reassured the staff and employees that the minister is keen to communicate with them and know about their problems. They felt that the minister was one of them and aware of even the smallest details in the sector. The minister explained the circumstances the sector was undergoing with frankness and honesty. He stressed that he understood their fair demands and would do his utmost to fulfil them in due course. These meetings filled the employees with hope and gave them the motivation to do their best. I think that Samir Imbabi's personal connection with a big number of company heads will enable him to develop the sector and understand the current circumstances. If there is more work, whether for EgyptAir or the airports, the revenues will increase and the employees benefit from the improved situation. Two further issues: Cairo Airport's employees are demanding access to other hospitals than only the EgyptAir hospital. Female EgyptAir flight attendants have been given permission to wear the hijab at work, which has lead to an increased number of applications.
