As part of a much-needed programme, children should get involved in charity work and physical training, which would prepare them for adulthood. In the meantime, the government and the private sector should invest more money in school improvements and develop child services across the nation. Moreover, tackling the issue of anti-social behaviour and youth crime must appear high on the government's agenda, considering that a growing wave of teenage violence is plaguing the country. The proposed programme should also aim at bringing children from different socio-economic backgrounds together to instill a sense of responsibility and teach them self-respect in order to be good citizens in the future. The time has come to help children learn the almost forgotten good old Egyptian values.
