An Egyptian lawyer on Thursday filed a lawsuit against Interior Minister Mansour el-Essawi accusing him of ignoring a detention warrant issued by the Chief Prosecutor against former president Hosni Mubarak and calling for the deposed leader to be moved to prison. "We have filed a report to Chief Prosecutor Abdel Meguid Mahmoud against el-Essawi for leaving Mubarak in Sharm el-Sheikh Hospital instead of transferring him to prison," said Mamdouh Ismail, the head of the Bar Association's Human Rights Committee. "This is against the law and violates the principles of justice and equality," Ismail said. Mubarak was ordered detained several times on charges of illegal enrichment and corruption. Meanwhile, the Illicit Gains Authority delayed until next Monday a hearing with veteran journalist Mohamed Hassanien Heikal, who wrote he had information on Mubarak's wealth. The delay was due to the fact that Heikal has not been officially summoned up yet.
