Egypt's Al-Ahly face El-Geish tonight
Published in The Egyptian Gazette on 17 - 04 - 2011

CAIRO - Al-Ahly defender Sherif Abdul-Fadil was omitted from his team's squad for the Egyptian Premier League match with El-Geish in Cairo Sunday nighht.
Former Ismaili man Abdul-Fadil was not injured and Ahly didn't reveal the reason why he was left out.
On the other hand, defender Mohamed Samir, who has been confined to the bench since head coach Manuel Jose took over, was a surprise inclusion.
As usual, young trio Ahmed Shokri, Afrotto and Shehab Ahmed were excluded.
Algerian ace Amir Saioud was named in the 18-man squad for the second consecutive time.
Al-Ahly's squad:
Goalkeepers: Ahmed Adel, Mohamed Aboul-Saoud
Defenders: Ahmed Al-Sayed, Wael Gomaa, Mohamed Samir, Hossam Ghaly
Midfielders: Ahmed Fathi, Sayed Moawad, Hossam Ashour, Mohamed Shawky, Moataz Eno, Mohamed Barakat, Amir Saioud, Mohamed Abou-Treika
Strikers: Geddo, Dominique Da Silva, Osama Hosni, Mohamed Fadl.
Geish coach Farouk Gaafar, meanwhile, believes his side have to attack Ahly in order to stand a chance to emerge winners in Sunday's league match.
"Ahly are renowned for their capable frontline, but defending against them is not a solution," he told Filgoal.
"I think that attack is the best way to defend your goal, so I decided to play an open game.
"I called on the players to focus and to be at their best, mentally and physically," Gaafar added.
Geish lie 10th in the league table while defending champions Ahly are in third place, trailing leaders and arch-rivals Zamalek by six points.
