Ahli duo Abdul-Fadil, Gomaa to miss Contractors clash
Published in FilGoal on 24 - 12 - 2010

Ahli's backline duo Sherif Abdul-Fadil and Wael Gomaa were left out of the squad for Saturday's league match against Arab Contractors in the Egyptian Premier League.
Gomaa was excluded due to automatic suspension after collecting his fourth caution in the Red Devils' 2-1 victory over Harras Hodoud on Tuesday.
On the other hand, Abdul-Fadil was omitted due to 'technical reasons'.
"I will miss the game for technical reasons. I'm not injured and I haven't received three yellow cards," he told FilGoal.com.
"I don't really know why I was excluded but of course I fully respect the technical staff's decision."
Midfield pair Mohamed Barakat and Hossam Ashour were named for the game after reaching full recovery.
Mercurial player Barakat missed Ahli's 2-2 draw at Ittihad and the victory over Harras Hodoud as a result of a nagging knee problem.
Holding midfielder Ashour was also kept on the sidelines for the last four matches with an ankle injury.
Goalie Ahmed Adel has also shaken off a long-lasting knee injury to make the squad for the Contractors match.
With Adel and Sherif Ekrami unavailable for weeks through injury, Mahmoud Aboul-Saoud has been regularly standing between the sticks.
Inexperienced goalie Mohamed Mokhtar was expectedly left out of the squad.
Ahli's caretaker coach Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Shafi 'Zizo' once again added youngster Rami Hesham 'Rabiea' to the 18-man list.
Rabiea, 17, made his senior team debut against Contractors and was quite impressive.
Ahli's squad:
Goalkeepers: Mahmoud Aboul-Saoud, Ahmed Adel
Defenders: Ahmed Fathi, Sayed Moawad, Ahmed Al-Sayed, Mohamed Samir, Hossam Ghaly, Afrotto
Midfielders: Moataz Eno, Shehab Ahmed, Rabiea, Hossam Ashour, Mohamed Shawky, Moahmed Abou-Treika, Mohamed Barakat, Ahmed Shokri
Strikers: Mohamed Fadl, Geddo
