CAIRO - Egypt's Justice Ministry has ordered the 15 days detention of the former Chairman of the People's Assembly Ahmed Fathi Sorour Wednesday pending investigations into corruption charges and in graft case. Egypt's official Middle East News Agency reported that Sorour, the former Chairman of the People's Assembly and one of the most powerful men in the former regime, was remanded into custody following 8 hours of questioning. Surour was speaker of parliament since 1991 and a key ruling party figure until the legislature was dissolved following the Feb. 11 fall of former President Hosni Mubarak.
