CAIRO - A criminal court in Cairo Tuesday upheld a decision made by the Ministry of Justice to freeze the liquid assets of the former Chairman of the People's Assembly, Ahmed Fathi Sorour, as well as those of his wife and their sons and daughters until investigations have been finished. Sorour, the ex-Chairman of the Shura Council Safwat el-Sherif and former Housing Minister Mohamed Ibrahim Soleiman have all had their assets frozen, while they are being investigated for graft, profiteering and abuse of power.
