CAIRO - The Cairo Criminal Court Sunday upheld an asset freeze of former Secretary General of the National Democratic Party (NDP) Safwat el-Sherif, former Housing Minister Mohamed Ibrahim Suliman and former Chief of he Presidential Staff Zakaria Azmy. The freeze was imposed by an official agency in charge of uncovering ill-gotten gains, prompted by the three former officials' illegally accumulated wealth. The decision to freeze their assets also applies to their wives and children. Meanwhile, the court adjourned till Tuesday a decision on a similar asset-freeze of former Speaker o the People's Assembly, Ahmed Fathi Sorour, his wife and children.
