The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed that the Egyptian Premier League will be resumed on April 15, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported Tuesday. All sports competitions were indefinitely halted in Egypt after demonstrations broke out and turned into a full-scale revolt that overthrew former president Hosni Mubarak last month. A step towards the resumption of the league was taken right after security became relatively maintained amid a strong police presence, unlike in the past weeks. National Sports Council president Hassan Saqr met with the representatives of the top-flight sides few days ago, before the EFA announced the date of the league recommencement. According to EFA's spokesman Azmi Megahed, the decision to continue the competition was made after the ruling military council had given the governing body the thumbs up.
