Alcotexa sells 1,90 T cotton in a week

CAIRO - Egypt's Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) committed to sell 1,190 tonnes of cotton in the week ended January 22, an Alcotexa official told Reuters on Sunday.
The sales comprised 247 tonnes of the Giza 88 variety and 943 tonnes of Giza 86, the official said.
Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2010/11 season, which began in September, are now 92,779 tonnes of cotton worth $350.72 million, the official added.
By this time last year, Alcotexa had sold 54,875 tonnes of cotton worth $122.7 million.
