CAIRO - Egypt's Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) committed to sell 749 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on November 13, an Alcotexa official told Reuters on Sunday. The sales comprised 269 tonnes of Giza 88, 25 tonnes of Giza 80 and 455 tonnes of Giza 86, the official said. Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2010/11 season, which began in September, are now 82,519.5 tonnes of cotton worth $295.37 million, the official said. By this time last year, Alcotexa had sold 21,118 tonnes of cotton worth $45.1 million.
