CAIRO, Oct 3, 2018 (MENA) - The value of taxes and customs fees on imported vehicles collected by Alexandria Customs Authority hit LE 1.7 billion during September, the Egyptian Finance Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. The number of imported cars that were cleared by the customs authority after paying customs fees reached 10,800, and their estimated value exceeded LE 2.829 billion. Their paid customs fees and value added tax (VAT) amounted to LE 1.108 billion. Also, as many as 1,028 imported half-trucks, microbuses and motorbikes were cleared by the customs authority. Their collected customs fees reached roughly LE 280 million, the statement read.
