President Sisi orders Army to maintain highest level of vigilance

CAIRO, Sept 15, 2018 - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has asserted the importance of consolidating efforts by the army and police troops to abort any attempt by terrorist groups to threaten the country's security and the people's safety especially in Northern Sinai, the presidency spokesman said on Saturday.
President Sisi's assertion of the importance of keeping-up these efforts came at a meeting the President had called with members of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, which was attended by Defence Minister General Mohmaed Zaki, the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General, Mohamed Fareed, President Sisi ordered the top officers to maintain the highest possible level of vigilance and preparedness to protect the country's vital installations and preserve the safety and security of its citizens.
President Sisi, who praised the patriotic roles played by the army and the police, reiterated to the senior commanders the importance of ensuring that the army and police forces receive advanced training, proper support and administrative backup from all the agencies concerned.
Discussions between President Sisi and the SCAF members also included a review of the latest developments on the domestic arena and ways of addressing the security challenges facing the nation, Ambassador Radi added.
In this context, the meeting dealt with the measures that were being taken by army forces to securing the country and its people, Ambassador Radi said.
In this regard, President Sisi praised the efforts of the Armed Forces and the police in confronting terrorists nationwide. He also lauded their sacrifices for protecting and defending the nation's soil, borders and security.
He said that the army and police troops have made great sacrifices for the sake of the Egyptian people.
President Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Egyptian Armed Forces, also ordered the army forces to maintain the highest level of preparedness to swiftly carry out any mission to protect Egypt's sovereign and the security of the Egyptians.
President Sisi praised the high capabilities and efficiency of the army troops and their efforts to reach the highest levels of preparedness.
He also called upon the troops to keep maintaining their notable physical and mental fitness and preparedness as well as upholding the noble and lofty military values, which had for long distinguished the Egyptian Armed Forces.
