In a speech he gave at the Chinese Communist Party Academy in Beijing on Sunday, President Sisi asserted that Egypt and China play a pioneering role in the fields of peace, security and development at African and international levels and highlighted that Egypt is looking forward to maintaining and developing this role as it enjoys a significant geostrategic location. This, the president added, is considered of special importance especially in the coming period as Egypt will assume the chairmanship of the African Union in 2019. President Sisi also said that his talks with President Xi Jinping resulted in confirming the continuity of the accord of visions and stances on various regional and international issues and at international gatherings. President Sisi said that the past years exposed the Arab regional order to severe crises, adding that the future and even the very existence of the national state have become threatened under the effect of domestic and foreign pressures and interferences. Elaborating, the president said that Egypt has reiterated that the only way out of the Libyan crisis is to comprehensively address the crisis of the absence of the state. The aspired solution, he added, can be realised through a government that represents all Libyans and practices its authority all over the country in addition to through a strong army that confronts terrorism and protects stability as well as free elections that can complete the state's legislative institutions. On Syria, the president highlighted that no stoppage of bloodshed can be achieved without a political solution there that starts with the re-writing of the country's constitution in a way that leads to rebuilding the polity and the national state and meeting the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people. Also, no way out of the Yemeni crisis can be achieved except through a political solution, President Sisi said. Before giving his speech, the president visited the academy's museum which dates back to 1933 and held a meeting with the academy's president and top staff who welcomed the Egyptian leader's visit, Presidency Spokesman Radi said.
