STOCKHOLM, August 31, 2018 (MENA) – Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Mohamed Abdel Aati concluded his visit to Stockholm on Friday, where he participated in five key sessions that were held on the sidelines of the World Water Week in Sweden. While in Stockholm, Abdel Aati held talks with a number of international organisations' officials, who took part in the World Water Week events. Also, he discussed with representatives of international bodies the five topics that will be addressed at the Cairo Water Week conference, slated for October 14-18 under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The Cairo conference will tackle sustainable water management, climate change and its impact on the environment, the availability of drinking water and sanitation services and their impacts on public health, as well as the role of science and technology in water management and transboundary water governance. Abdel Aati reviewed with the executive director of the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) preparations for the Cairo Water Week conference.
