CAIRO-Scores of political activists Tuesday night protested against the continuing jailing of an Islamist journalist. The protest staged outside the Egyptian Press Syndicate was part of a campaign to push for the release of Magdy Hussein, the editor of the now-frozen newspaper "Al Shaab". A military court has jailed Hussein to two years for inflitrating into the Israel-blockaded Gaza Strip in early 2009. Egypt was the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel in 1979. But anti-Israel protests are common in Egypt.
