KUWAIT CITY, July 14, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Tareq el Qouni has said relations between the two countries have witnessed great development at all levels since the June 30 Revolution. In an interview with MENA, Qouni indicated that the two countries' leaders and officials are keen to hold consultations and exchange views with regard to various regional and international issues in a way that serves joint interests. Meanwhile, the ambassador unveiled that Kuwaiti investments in Egypt surged to $15 billion under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah. Kuwait is the world's fourth largest investor in Egypt, with investments totaling $3.76 billion between the years 1970 and 2016 through 1,166 Kuwaiti companies that exist in most Egyptian governorates, he said. As for Egypt-Kuwait trade exchange of non-petroleum products, the diplomat said it has almost tripled in four years, recording $500 million in 2017, compared to $150 million before. Trade exchange of petroleum products between the two countries has exceeded $3 billion, he added.
