CAIRO, July 3, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan met on Tuesday with a delegation of the International Organization For Migration (IOM), under William L. Swing, the general director of the IOM, as they probed qualifying vocational training centers in Alexandria and Beheira governorates. Saafan underscored the importance of renovating one of the two centers to be finished before next September to provide suitable training programs in order to qualify the youth for the labor market inside Egypt and abroad, stressing the necessity of completing all ventures and programs as soon as possible. He also urged Swing for establishing a vocational training center in Qift town in Qena governorate, to train young men and women from the surrounding villages and towns to cope with the labor market's needs. For his part, Swing said qualifying the Egyptian youth and training them are important to eliminate unemployment, asserting the IOM has interest in cooperation with the ministry in qualifying young people as well as inking bilateral agreements with European countries to gain expertise in jobs in Europe. The IOM official pointed out that he will submit two letters to the European Union and United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to contribute to funding and developing the ministry's vocational training centers nationwide. During the meeting, both sides discussed implementing number of projects to train the workers, who reside in the governorates with the highest rates of illegal immigration and developing training program to employ youth.
