Pope Tawadros meets senior Ethiopian Foreign Ministry official

CAIRO, June 1, 2018 (MENA) - Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese met Thursday with Director of the Middle East Affairs Department at the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry Suleiman Dedefo.
The meeting tackled the issue of Deir el Sultan monastery and efforts exerted to bring back bodies of Ethiopian martyrs from Libya, Spokesman for the Coptic Orthodox Church Polis Halim said.
For his part, Pope Tawadros stressed the church's readiness to provide all possible support for Ethiopia on that score.
The meeting was attended by Ethiopian Ambassador in Cairo Taye Atske-Selassie.
