CAIRO, April 17, 2018 - Egypt's Minister of Tourism Rania El-Mashat on Tuesday held a meeting with the Australian Ambassador in Cairo Neil Hawkins, to discuss ways of increasing co-operation over tourism by the two countries, the state news agency MENA said. During the meeting, El-Mashat said that her ministry was working to reach new tourism markets. She pointed out that the Egyptian tourist destinations were very diverse and would attract different kinds of tourists from all over the world. The Australian ambassador said his country was keen to promote Egyptian destinations in Australia. He pointed out that Australian tourists were interested in cultural tourism, with which Egypt is richly endowed. Ambassador Hawkins suggested organising an introductory trip for the Australian media personnel and celebrities because this would greatly help convey a true image of Egypt.
