Uprooting MB thought in Muslim world
Published in The Egyptian Gazette on 30 - 03 - 2018

During his visit to Cairo early this month, Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman went to Al-Azhar Mosque to cut the ribbon officially inaugurating the newly renovated premises, which had been maintained at the cost of millions of Egyptian pounds paid for by the Saudi Kingdom, with a view to reinforcing the role and assets of this highest seat of Sunni teaching.
Before the opening ceremony, Bin Salman visited the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr Ahmed el-Tayyeb in his office, to acknowledge Al-Azhar's great role in quelling the ultraconservative Wahhabism and violent ideology, which have wreaked havoc on Muslim communities for decades.
Bin Salman is depending largely on Al-Azhar and its teaching of true Islam to uproot Wahhabism and its offshoots, fundamentalism and extremism; which have left an indelible scar on the image of Islam throughout the world. Following the example, which has proved successful in Egypt, the Saudi Crown Prince has pledged to purge school textbooks in the Kingdom of the ideology and thought of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB).
The MB is responsible for the spread of the culture of hatred, xenophobia and alienation, which has instigated instability and bloodshed in several parts of the world. Young people and teenagers, who do not have proper knowledge of their faith, often absorb the MB's violent ideology and consider it the proper path to have a close and strong connection with Allah.
Since its controversial birth in 1928, the MB has parented terrorist groups, which, while raising different banners, have been seeking the achievement of a shared goal—proposed and manufactured by certain foreign powers.
During the Afghan war in the 1980s, the MB collaborated with the Wahhabis to form an alliance of evil with the aim of mobilising brainwashed young people before sending them to Afghanistan to fight the alleged Kafir (non-believer) Soviet troops. These brainwashed young people were happy to be named Mujahideen (holy warriors). Returning from Afghanistan, the Mujahideen were deployed in different Muslim and non-Muslim countries. They are used as a Trojan Horse.
Bin Salman is now using a sledgehammer to break into pieces Wahhabism and the MB culture in the Kingdom. However, his all-out war will echo very favourably in the Muslim countries, which will be encouraged to do likewise. In collaboration with Egypt, Saudi Arabia is firmly determined to rescue hijacked Islam, and to open a new and luminous chapter in its history.
