Egypt, Algeria discuss supporting nomination of Mostafa el Gendy in PAP elections

GENEVA, March 25 (MENA) - Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal on Sunday discussed with Speaker of the Algerian People's National Assembly Abdelqader bin Saleh means to coordinate the stances of Egypt and Algeria to support the nomination of parliamentarian Mostafa el Gendy to chair the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) during elections due to be held in May.
This came during a meeting held between both officials on the sidelines of the 138th round of the European Parliamentary Union (EPU) held in Geneva.
In post-meeting statements, Abel Aal praised the historical ties between Egypt and Algeria.
He said that the Algerian parliament speaker asserted his keenness on boosting cooperation between both countries and supporting Egypt in the PAP's elections.
