Ahl Masr Foundation signs cooperation agreement to support Burn Hospital
Published in Daily News Egypt on 24 - 03 - 2025

The Ahl Masr Foundation for Development has signed a cooperation agreement with the Egyptian General Trading and Contracting Company, under which the company will provide financial support to cover both the treatment costs of burn patients and the operational expenses of Ahl Masr Burn Hospital throughout 2025.
The agreement was signed by Heba El Sewedy, Founder and Chairperson of Ahl Masr Foundation and Hospital, and Wasek Wafiq Abdel Aziz, Chairperson of the Egyptian General Trading and Contracting Company.
This initiative is part of the foundation's ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive, free medical care for burn patients in collaboration with various community institutions. It also underscores the private sector's commitment to supporting humanitarian causes and improving healthcare services in Egypt.
El Sewedy expressed her gratitude, stating: "This cooperation with the Egyptian General Trading and Contracting Company marks a significant step in strengthening the hospital's efforts and ensuring the sustainability of its services. It highlights the crucial role of the private sector in supporting community issues, particularly in raising awareness about burn risks and prevention. We deeply appreciate the company's continuous support and look forward to further collaborations with other institutions to enhance the hospital's free services."
Abdel Aziz emphasized the importance of Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, stating: "We are dedicated to providing ongoing financial support to ensure effective treatment for burn victims and to strengthen the hospital's capacity to achieve its vision of 'A Humanity Free of Burns.' This collaboration contributes to improving healthcare standards in Egypt and supports the hospital's efforts to serve the community."
Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, one of the first specialized free burn treatment hospitals, has treated over 8,000 burn patients since its opening in March 2024, including 6,500 children. The hospital's emergency department has received 2,516 patients, while 244 patients have been admitted to its intensive care units. In addition, over 4,000 surgeries have been performed, with 2,200 procedures dedicated to children.
The hospital also prioritizes community awareness campaigns to prevent burn injuries, leveraging all available resources. Its medical team includes specialists in all areas of burn treatment, ensuring comprehensive care that addresses both physical and psychological recovery. The hospital further emphasizes patient reintegration into society through specialized rehabilitation programs.
