Egypt's stock market (EGX) closed mostly lower on Tuesday, with losses across broader indices offsetting a slight rise in the benchmark EGX30. The EGX30 index, which tracks the country's largest and most liquid companies, rose 0.45 per cent to 39,902.53 points. The EGX33 Shariah index tumbled 1.13 per cent to 4,197.57 points, while the EGX35-LV was 1.28 per cent lower to 4,435.24 points. Among smaller stocks, the EGX70 for SMEs lost 1.37 per cent to 12,212.71 points, and the EGX100 broader index shed 0.90 per cent to 16,200.84 points. Market capitalisation closed at 2.8 trillion Egyptian pounds. Egyptian investors were net sellers, with a total of 1.9 billion pounds, while Arab and foreign investors recorded net purchases of 766.152 million pounds and 1.146 billion pounds, respectively.
