310 aid trucks enter Gaza via Al-Auja, Kerem Abu Salem crossings
Published in Daily News Egypt on 26 - 01 - 2025

A total of 310 aid trucks, including 20 fuel trucks, entered Gaza through the Al-Auja and Kerem Abu Salem crossings on Sunday, according to Egyptian officials. The trucks are part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to provide much-needed supplies to the Gaza Strip.
However, tensions continue to escalate in Gaza, as Israeli occupation forces violated the ceasefire agreement, leading to fatalities and injuries. Two Palestinians were killed, and 20 others were injured when Israeli forces opened fire in the central and southern Gaza Strip. A medical source at Al-Awda Hospital reported that a young man was killed, and 15 others were injured in the "Taba al-Nuwairi" area, west of the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.
Earlier in the day, a young man was killed in the city of Rafah (south), and five Palestinians, including a child, were injured when Israeli forces fired on a group of displaced people waiting to return to their homes in the Gaza and northern governorates, in accordance with the ceasefire terms.
The government media office in Gaza reported that tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip are anxiously waiting for the opening of the Netzarim Corridor to return to their areas. However, Israel has been accused of evading the ceasefire agreement on this matter, with recent reports suggesting that Tel Aviv is conditioning the return of displaced people on the release of Israeli prisoner Arbel Yehud.
In a related development, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reiterated Jordan's firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians. During a joint press conference with Sigrid Kaag, the Senior Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction Affairs in Gaza, Safadi rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to resettle Gaza residents in Jordan. Safadi stated, "The solution to the Palestinian issue is in Palestine, and Jordan is for Jordanians, and Palestine is for Palestinians," reinforcing Jordan's position that Palestinians must remain on their land.
Trump had suggested on Sunday that both Jordan and Egypt should accept more Palestinians from Gaza, following the humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing conflict.
