Published in Daily News Egypt on 07 - 07 - 2024

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Monday that the Israeli occupation committed three massacres against civilians during the past 24 hours, leaving 55 dead and 123 injured. The toll of the Israeli aggression has risen to 38,153 dead and 87,828 injured since October 7. It added that several victims were still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defence crews were unable to reach them.
Israel bombed Al-Jaouni School on Monday, which houses displaced people in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, killing 16 people and wounding 75 others, most of them children and women. The government media office in Gaza noted that there were approximately 7,000 displaced people in the school.
In a related context, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, called for an "independent investigation" into Israel's bombing of an agency school housing two thousand displaced people in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
He added: "Nine months into the brutal war in Gaza, I once again call for a ceasefire. The longer the war lasts, the deeper the rift becomes and the more the population suffers."
On the ground, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, said that it bombed with regular mortar shells the occupation army soldiers stationed at the Rafah crossing gate and its surroundings, in response to the continuing Israeli attacks on civilians.
The Al-Quds Brigades added that they, in conjunction with the Salah al-Din Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, targeted concentrations of Israeli occupation forces at the Nahal Oz military site with a missile salvo.
Moreover, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Fatah movement, said that it targeted a position of Israeli occupation soldiers and their military vehicles stationed inside the Rafah crossing and its surroundings with several regular mortar shells.
The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Fatah movement, confirmed that it bombed a position of Israeli occupation army vehicles on the supply line in the "Netzarim" axis with a Type 107 rocket salvo and heavy-calibre mortar shells.
The artillery unit of the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said that it destroyed the occupation army forces penetrating the Al-Shujaiya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, with 60 mm regular mortar shells in response to its crimes against the Palestinian people.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed that it targeted a "Merkava 4" tank and an Israeli troop carrier with "Al-Yassin 105" shells in the middle of the Tal Al-Sultan neighbourhood in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam said that it targeted a "Merkava 4" tank with an "Al-Yassin 105" shell on Baghdad Street in the Shuja'iya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City.
