Hamas calls upon UN to take immediate action to halt 'US-backed Israeli aggression'
Published in Daily News Egypt on 20 - 07 - 2024

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) asserts that Israel's ongoing 'war of extermination against the Palestinian people' in the Gaza Strip is a direct response to the recent ruling by the International Court of Justice.
In a statement, Hamas emphasizes that the UN must urgently intervene to curb the series of Israeli acts of terrorism and criminality, which receive direct support from the US administration.
On Friday, the International Court of Justice affirmed the Palestinian people's right to self-determination. It declared that Israel lacks the authority to displace Palestinians from their land or establish Israeli settlements there.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a warning about the elevated risk of vaccine-preventable diseases, including polio. Factors contributing to this risk include overcrowding in shelters, the destruction of Gaza's health system, ongoing displacement, shortages of medical supplies, compromised water quality, sewage leaks, and low rates of routine vaccination."
On Saturday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that during the past 24 hours, the Israeli occupation forces committed four massacres against civilians, leaving 37 dead and 54 injured. The toll of the Israeli aggression had risen to 38,919 dead and 89,622 wounded since 7 October 2023.
Meanwhile, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said that they, in conjunction with the Jerusalem Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, targeted an Israeli "Merkava 4" tank with an "Al-Yassin 105" shell in the Al-Shaboura camp in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Qassam Brigades added that they blew up a tunnel opening with an Israeli foot force after luring them into the Tal Al-Sultan neighbourhood, west of the city of Rafah, confirming the deaths and injuries.
The Jerusalem Brigades also bombed the Nahal Oz site in the Gaza Strip with several heavy-calibre mortar shells.
The Mujahideen Brigades said that they "targeted the Zionist enemy forces stationed in the Netzarim axis with several 107 short-range missiles, in conjunction with the Ansar Brigades."
In turn, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Fatah movement, announced the bombing of the occupation army headquarters in the Netzarim axis, south of Gaza City, with several mortar shells.
