He noted that the plan aims to protect conference participants from any infectious diseases or exposure to crises and health accidents, providing ambulance and emergency services in a timely manner, providing the necessary treatment services to guests, as well as providing diagnostic tests and admitting sick cases in hospitals.
Abdel Ghaffar explained that the ambulance services are being supported by 170 vehicles equipped with intensive care units distributed around the halls where the conference activities are held and the areas of residence and movement of delegations, in addition to distributing ambulances on the main axes, vital areas, and entry points to South Sinai.
He added that the emergency system in the conference insurance plan includes self-sterilising cars to combat infection, rapid intervention cars, marine ambulances, golf cars, electric ambulances, in addition to providing air evacuation services whenever necessary, as well as logistical support vehicles, mechanical maintenance vehicles, and maintenance of medical equipment for ambulances.
Furthermore, the axes of preventive measures to secure the conference include the vaccination of workers, environmental health and food control work, quarantining, disease vector control work, a mobile laboratory to monitor air quality, and preventive teams.
He noted that more than 18,000 workers in tourist facilities and drivers in Sharm El-Sheikh have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, along with more than 11,200 hotel caterers against hepatitis A.
Additionally, Abdel Ghaffar said that the quarantine procedures at airports and entry points in South Sinai are executing all precautionary and preventive measures to screen any infected cases using cameras, thermal gates, and remote temperature measurement devices.
Finally, he affirmed that Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital is equipped with all the medical equipment and manpower necessary to deal with any patients, adding that an additional 20 evacuation hospitals were equipped in South Sinai, the governorates of the Suez Canal region, and Greater Cairo.
