The Egyptian pavilion participating in the BIT Milan International Tourism Fair witnessed a great turnout from Italian and international tourism companies and tour operators, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' press statement.
During the tourism fair, Amr Al-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB); Mohamed Farag, the Tourism Attaché at the Egyptian Tourist Office in Berlin, Germany; and the administrative and financial supervisor of the tourism offices in Russia, Italy, and the affiliated supervisory countries held a number of important professional meetings with officials of major Italian tourism companies and tour operators at the headquarters of the Egyptian Pavilion, during which they discussed ways to push more tourist movement from Italy to Egypt.
This is in addition to holding a set of media meetings with a number of international and Italian newspapers and magazines specialised in tourism.
During these meetings, the CEO of the ETPB reviewed the characteristics of Egypt as a tourist destination and its various tourist patterns and products.
He informed the international side of the developments in the Egyptian tourism sector, the expected tourism and archaeological openings, and the efforts of the Egyptian state to develop and advance this sector, the latest of which is facilitating the procedures for obtaining entry visas for the country from various countries of the world, and the facilitation of entry into Egyptian ports, in addition to what the state is doing to do to develop the tourism infrastructure in terms of roads, bridges, airports, and new trains linking tourist destinations in various parts of the Republic.
AL-Kady also shed light on the precautionary preventive measures and health safety controls that are strictly applied in the context of facing the repercussions of the coronavirus crisis, as well as the measures taken by the ministry to develop tourist and hotel destinations and facilities and to push the incoming movement to Egypt in general.
They also discussed how the ministry cooperates with tour operators and airlines in terms of joint promotional campaigns.
For their part, representatives of Italian tourism companies stressed that there is a noticeable demand and passion among Italian tourists to visit Egypt, especially with the end of the closure policy in Italy in light of the repercussions of the coronavirus crisis, pointing to the desire of the Italian tourist to visit many cities and tourist destinations, including Sharm El-Sheikh, Marsa Alam, Marsa Matrouh, Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, and Nile cruises between them.
