Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB), has met with Terry Dale, the President of the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), and a number of the most important tour operators and American tourism companies, during his participation in the annual conference of the USTOA.
El-Kady held a number of sideline meetings during the USTOA, which was held in San Diego, California. He also met with representatives of Egyptian tourism companies and hotels participating in this conference and EgyptAir.
These meetings dealt with the status of the tourism industry globally and the challenges it faces, especially in light of the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, and ways to enhance cooperation to increase the number of tourists from the US to Egypt.
El Kady talked about the tourist and archaeological components of the Egyptian tourist destination, stressing that it is a distinct destination that offers tourists a unique and diverse tourist experience.
He highlighted the efforts made by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to promote tourism to Egypt in the world, stressing the Egyptian state's readiness to receive tourists from different countries.
He also shed light on the procedures required for tourists to enter Egypt and what the Egyptian state is doing in the event of a minor infection of a tourist with the virus.
El Kady also referred to the nationalities that can obtain the tourist visa to Egypt electronically through its electronic portal.
During these meetings, the CEO of the authority reviewed the measures taken by the Egyptian state to recover the inbound tourism in Egypt and ensure the health and safety of citizens, tourists, and workers in the tourism sector.
For their part, the American tour operators praised the ministry's participation in this important annual conference, which reflects the great interest the ministry attaches to the American market to attract more tourist traffic from it to Egypt.
During his meeting with Terry Dale, President of the USTOA, they discussed ways of joint cooperation to promote Egypt tourism more within the United States of America and place Egypt on the list of the most preferred tourist destinations in the American market and increase the movement of incoming tourism to it from this important market in light of the American tourist's interest in the cultural tourism product.
For his part, Terry expressed his admiration of the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to revitalize the tourism movement. He also praised the Rams Road opening ceremony held on 25 November in Luxor, and the exceptional Royal Mummies Parade, which was held last April.
