Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is participating in the Milan International Tourism Exchange (BIT) in its virtual 2021 version, which is held from 9 to 14 May.
The ministry is being represented by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB), as part of its keenness to promote Egyptian tourism in the most important export markets for the sector.
Ahmed Youssef, CEO of ETPB, said that the ministry is keen to participate in this exhibition as it is one of the most important professional exhibitions in the Italian market. It aims to keep pace with the rapid and successive changes that the tourism and travel industry is witnessing around the world.
"This exhibition is an opportunity to communicate with the profession's partners and representatives of the tourism sector in the Italian market, to discuss ways of joint cooperation and push forward more movement of inbound tourism to Egypt," he said.
Maged Abu Sedira, head of the ETPB's International Tourism Sector, said that the ministry is participating at the BIT by publishing promotional materials from films and pictures about Egypt.
This is in addition to transmitting messages and information on health safety controls that are applied in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cafeterias, museums, and archaeological sites.
He also said that, during the exhibition, various tourist and archaeological assets in Egypt will be promoted to attract Italian tourists to visit Egypt.
Abu Sedira noted that the Italian market is one of the most important tourism export markets to Egypt, and that tourists from the country are always looking for calm, entertainment, and warm weather, in addition to his interest in visiting cultural tourism destinations.
It should be noted that the BIT exhibition is being hosted in Milan, northern Italy, and is attended by tour operators from all over the world.
