Health Minister discusses cooperation with South Korea in medical sector
Cooperation includes research, clinical trials for serums, vaccines, and biologicals

Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed held, on Monday, a meeting with a number of representatives of leading companies in the field of biopharmaceuticals and medical technology in South Korea.
The meeting, which was held virtually, aimed to discuss ways to enhance cooperation to support the health sector.
South Korea's ambassador to Egypt, Hong Jin-wook, Mohsen Taha, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector, Nevin El-Nahhas, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Support and Director of the Technical Office of the Minister of Health, and Mohamed Gad, Advisor to the Minister of Health for External Health Relations, have attended the meeting.
Additionally, Heba Wali, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines "VACSERA" , and a number of representatives from the Egyptian Drug Authority, have attended the meeting as well.
The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation between the Ministry of Health and South Korean companies in the field of medical equipment for hospitals and health units within the national projects implemented by the ministry, foremost of which is the initiative of the President of the Republic " Dignified Life"
Moreover, the meeting addressed ways of cooperation between VACSERA and South Korean companies in the field of transferring manufacturing technology for various types of vaccines, the most important of which is the Coronavirus vaccine.
Cooperation also includes the field of research and clinical trials for serums, vaccines and biologicals.
During the meeting, Zayed affirmed Egypt's keenness on fruitful cooperation with the Korean side in the health field, and maximising investment opportunities for South Korean companies in Egypt, which contributes to the expansion of the pharmaceutical and vaccine industry in Africa and the Middle East.
She further pointed to Egypt's aspiration to become the main hub for Korean medical companies to access the African market.
