South Korea holds webinar to boost medical, pharmaceutical cooperation with Egypt
Korean Ambassador Hong Jin-wook, Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed, and more than 60 Korean companies participated in the event.

The Korean Embassy in Cairo has organised a webinar on the Egyptian Government's measures to support the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health and medical sector.
Korean Ambassador Hong Jin-wook, Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed, and more than 60 Korean companies participated in the event.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hong Jin-wook stressed that the health and medical sector is pivotal for the two countries bilateral cooperation, given Egypt's ambitious plan to become a medical hub in the region, particularly in the manufacturing of vaccines and pharmaceutical products. Ambassador Hong said he's pleased with the hosting of this meaningful event at the right time to boost bilateral medical and health cooperation.
He added that over 60 Korean companies attended this event, reflecting Korean companies' interest in advancing to the Egyptian medical market. He expressed his hope that Korean companies' investments and trade with Egypt could be further expanded.
Minister Zayed thanked the Korean Embassy for its efforts to enhance bilateral medical cooperation. She added that today's webinar is a good opportunity to help Korean medical companies advance to the Egyptian market.
She expressed willingness to continue close cooperation with the Korean government and companies, expressing hope for tangible cooperation projects to be realized with the Egyptian counterparts, including VACSERA. She added that Korean companies are top world level in medical technology and quality products, pointing to the possible collaboration for technology transfer and joint manufacturing.
The Egyptian Drug Authority made a presentation on the Egyptian policies and regulations in the medical sector and answered Korean companies' inquiries which help companies better understand the Egyptian related policies and regulations to access the Egyptian market.
In the same vein, Kotra is arranging online B2B consultation meetings between Korean and Egyptian medical companies, running over 5 weeks from 28 September, with the participation of more than 30 Korean companies to discuss possible business collaboration with Egyptian counterparts.
