High school students in Egypt resumed their Thanaweyya Amma (school leaving) exams on Saturday, after the end of the Eid Al-Adha holidays.
A total of 392,863 students in the scientific stream flocked to examination committees to take the Physics exam. The Ministry of Education and Technical Education refuted rumours that the exam had been leaked beforehand.
The 2021 exams started on 10 July and will continue until 5 August amid strict precautionary measures due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The students were handed the exam papers featuring multiple choice questions and bubble sheets.
The new testing system is available in paper-based sheet form or electronically through tablets, where students answer the exams in both ways to guarantee they do not encounter any problems.
Before the Eid Al-Adha holidays, high school students in the literary stream of the Thanaweyya Amma took the exams for the subjects of Arabic language, the second foreign language, Chemistry, Algebra, Spatial Geometry, Geography, and Philosophy.
From 24 July, students in the scientific stream will take the exams for the subjects of Physics, History, Psychology, Sociology, the first foreign language, Biology, Statistics, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Calculus, and Dynamics.
