The Egyptian cabinet has approved two agreements signed between Egypt and Germany covering financial and technical cooperation between the two countries. The first agreement allows the Egyptian Government to obtain financial support from the German Development Bank to establish projects as part of the Energy Efficiency Support initiative, and Initiative to Support Comprehensive Technical Education in Egypt. The second agreement relates to technical cooperation, in which the German government will support the Nile Delta Water Management Programme, in addition to integrating systems to improve the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy. The cabinet also approved a request to transfer one of the Egyptian artefacts to be displayed at the Egyptian pavilion at the Expo Dubai 2020 exhibition, where the Supreme Committee for Museums Display Scenario chose to showcase a newly discovered coffin without a mummy by the Egyptian mission in Saqqara. The cabinet agreed to reduce the fees paid by travellers wishing to obtain approved certificates proving that they have received the necessary doses of the vaccine against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The fee now stands at EGP 100 for Egyptians and $10 for non-Egyptians. The cabinet also approved the agreement signed between Egypt and Poland regarding the mutual exemption of entry visas for diplomatic passport holders, with the aim of facilitating the entry and exit of these travellers. Meanwhile, Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed reviewed the procedures for travellers to enter Egypt, asserting that every visitor who has taken both doses of the coronavirus vaccine will be excluded from conducting a PCR test for the virus. During the meeting, she reviewed the latest developments regarding the coronavirus pandemic, adding that Egypt ranked second after Morocco in terms of vaccination rates in Africa. Zayed also reviewed the latest developments in the process of manufacturing of the Chinese "Sinovac" vaccine.
