Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, on Tuesday.
The Egyptian President asserted his Egypt's keenness to enhance cooperation with Qatar, to achieve peace and development for the two countries and support the Arab solidarity.

The President said that Egypt welcomes the recent developments in Egyptian-Qatari relations, and affirmed Egypt's keenness to achieve progress in various fields. These steps aim to achieve the goals and interests of the two countries, whilst preserving the security and stability of the Arab region.
Egyptian Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady said that the Qatari Minister conveyed a message from the Qatari Emir to Al-Sisi. It included an invitation for the President to visit Doha, whilst also conveying the Emir's aspiration to develop bilateral relations between Egypt and Qatar.
Al Thani hailed the strategic and pivotal role that Egypt plays, under the leadership of President Al-Sisi, to defending the Arab nation's issues and protecting Arab national security. The Emir also applauded Egypt's efforts and tireless endeavours to consolidate security, stability, and development at the regional level.
During the meeting, it was agreed to intensify joint consultations and coordination between Egypt and Qatar, including the exchange of visits by senior officials.
