Published in Daily News Egypt on 18 - 05 - 2021

Israeli occupation forces continued their aggression, on Tuesday, against the besieged Gaza Strip and Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The Israeli forces also continued violations in the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the occupied city of Jerusalem.
As part of their ongoing campaign, they suppressed protesters in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of Jerusalem and in areas of the occupied West Bank, where the demonstrators raised the slogans "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free".
In an attempt to end the protests, Israeli forces fired tear gas bombs as dozens of demonstrators struggled to breathe.
Meanwhile, Palestinians of Arab towns in the occupied territories announced a strike, on Tuesday, against the Israeli aggression.
For its part, Palestinian resistance movements resumed the launch of rockets on Israeli towns. The Izz Ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced that it had bombed the settlements of Sderot, Zikim, Ashdod, Nahal Oz, and Ashkelon with mortar shells.
The group also said that the shells came in response to Israel's bombing of Palestinian civilians. Sirens sounded in Zikim, Netiv Haasara, Kisufim, and Ashdod, as well as other towns bordering Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israel's health authorities announced that two Israelis were killed in the bombing of Eshkol in the western Negev. The bombing also left 20 Israelis wounded, with one in a critical state.
An Israeli soldier was wounded when a mortar shell landed near the Beit Hanoun crossing in the northern Gaza Strip.
In the meantime, the Israeli occupation forces said that they have targeted 12 houses belonging to senior leaders of the Palestinian resistance movements in the last 24 hours. They added that they had also targeted nine underground and above-ground rocket launch sites along the Gaza Strip on Tuesday morning.
Also on Tuesday, the Israeli army announced that three rockets were fired from southern Lebanon towards the Galilee region. Israel responded with artillery shelling on the Lebanese heights of Kafr Shuba.
