11th Creative Industry Summit goes virtual for COVID-19 concerns
This year's event packed with world leading insights on digital transformation, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, and sustainability
Published in Daily News Egypt on 13 - 07 - 2020

The 11th Creative Industry Summit will this year adopt online format on 20-21 July due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as it continues to shake up Egypt's innovation-oriented business arenas.
The virtual edition of the Creative Industry Summit is sponsored by Heartwork, Egypt's First International Business Hub by Mountain View.
The MENA region's leading platform for celebrating creativity will this year discuss the revolutionary know-how adopted by leading international players. It aims to emerge with digital transformation, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, start-ups, sustainability, creativity and proper management in times of crisis.
Bringing together creative experts, the event this year is hosting Sir Martin Sorrell, the Executive Chairperson of S4 Capital and the Founder of WPP, the world's largest advertising and PR group by both revenues and number of staff. Also participating in the event is Maha Abou El-Enein, Chief Value Officer and EVP of Business Development at Vaynerx, and Dr Khaled Ismail, Founder and Chairperson of Himangel.
Launched in 2014, the Creative Industry Summit (C-S) is Egypt's first hub for the creative ecosystem, gathering hundreds of eminent professionals worldwide every year. Over the past six years, C-S has brought together 8,600 attendees, 780 speakers, and 79 exhibitors from an array of agencies, creative boutiques, and media scenes, along with leading corporations. The event has undertaken 946 talks, 350 panel discussions, and 38 workshops.
During an online media roundtable held on Monday, the MENA region's leading platform was promoted by some of the most prominent speakers. They highlighted Egypt's economic indicators and the significant role played by innovation and creativity to proceed with the new way of life that has been created by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its post-pandemic effects.
Mai Salama, co-founder of the Creative Industry Summit, inaugurated the webinar saying, "I take pride that C-S has always been a pioneer in bringing the top-notch gurus in the field. This year and despite the current circumstances, C-S is hosting for the first time in the Middle East, through its unrivalled e-conference, the best creative minds from around the globe to give their insights on how creativity and innovation can serve and develop different industries."
Sherif Saleh, Marketing Director for Mountain View, noted, "Mountain View is a company that celebrates innovation through its enriched portfolio of new and creative concepts. The current global challenges and tough circumstances gave birth to a brand-new lifestyle of altered priorities."
For his part, Khaled Ismail said, "With the coronavirus pandemic overshadowing world economies, start-up profitability has been drastically affected either negatively or positively."
He added, "Some were already financially suffering before the pandemic, some have been negatively affected by the repercussions despite their robust indicators, while others emerged by adopting a long-sighted vision since establishment, valuing innovation and modernisation."
Ismail noted that the companies with the robustness to adopt long-sighted visions represent the majority of Himangel clientele. He added that they are distinguished by their revolutionary services to properly and safely serve their customers.
