We're very aware how frustrating British citizens situation, says UK ambassador

The United Kingdom embassy to Egypt released a statement on Wednesday to calm their citizens' fears, assuring that they can return home, after application of Egypt's decision of suspension of air travel from 19 to 31 March, on board of Easyjet.
“We understand from Easyjet in London that they are working now on flights to bring people home and will post details when they can,” the British ambassador in Egypt, Sir Geoffrey Adams said.
“We have confirmation from Egypt that these can be after Thursday. We are in touch with hotels. More when we have it," Adams mentioned, asserting that he is very aware how frustrating British citizens situation is and is working for clarity from airlines and operators.
Earlier in March, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advised against all but essential travel to Egypt and banned travel to North Sinai.
The Egyptian government has announced that flights to and from Egypt will be suspended at noon on 19 March until 31 March, FCO mentioned, adding that there is an ongoing outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) and cases have been confirmed in Egypt.
The Egyptian authorities have introduced several measures to limit the spread of the virus. Schools, universities and nurseries have been closed since 15 March and are currently planned to remain closed until 28 March. The government has also banned large public events.
An estimated 415,000 British nationals visited Egypt in 2018. Most visits are trouble-free.
