Orouba Misr contracts on developing Novotel Alexandria resort

Egyptian developer Orouba Misr and French hospitality firm Accor have signed a management agreement for Novotel resort in Alexandria.
When it opens in 2023, the 200-key Novotel Alexandria will be the hospitality focal point of the Orouba Skyline, a 400,000 sqm mixed-use project set to be the biggest in Alexandria, with upscale residential retail business and medical facilities and a high-profile location on Alexandria and the main entrance to the city, said CEO of Orouba Misr Hazem Eldeeb.
He added that Novotel will be developed within the company's project Skyline. The hotel will include1,380 sqm of meeting and event space, the hotel will tap into surging demand for corporate and social events in Egypt's second largest city.
Skyline's portfolio spans an administrative and business tower, which Dorsch master Architecture one of the top five companies in office designing in the world has worked on designing. SkyHub, and SkyMed a medical tower, in addition to a regional mall, he elaborated.
Eldeeb pointed out that Novotel Alexandria's meeting and event space will include a pre-function area, complemented by a specialty restaurant; all-day dining venue and lobby lounge; and a 400 sqm wellness facility.
Located 8 km from both Alexandria Corniche and the city centre and a short drive from top attractions including Alexandria National Museum, the Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa, Montazah Gardens, Pompey's Pillar, and Qaitbay Fort, the hotel is expected to appeal to domestic and international guests visiting the city for business and leisure.
Orouba Misr has been operating in Egypt for 25 years and has development projects in New Cairo and Pyramids Plato area. It was the first to establish luxuries residential compounds in Alexandria: Orouba Royal compound and Sedra. Orouba has expanded its line of business to a partnership with MAF (Carrefour) to establish 10 malls nationwide. Moreover, Orouba has signed an agreement with AAST to build new international schools and colleges within the coming few years in Orouba's next project.
Alexandria is currently a hotbed of infrastructure development with the Borg Al-Arab Airport expansion project set to more than double its capacity to 4 million passengers annually by 2022 and a $1.5bn metro line under construction.
