MSMEDA funds 186,00 micro, small projects worth EGP 2.7bn in Al Sharqia: Gamea
The authority inaugurates its official website offering development services
Published in Daily News Egypt on 21 - 10 - 2018

The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (MSMEDA) has funded about 186,000 small and micro projects in Al Sharqia governorate since 1992, totaling EGP 2.7bn, and provided 307,964 job opportunities, the CEO of MSMEDA Nevine Gamea said.
She added that the authority's grants to Al Sharqia reached EGP 259,000 to implement intensive-labour infrastructure, community development, and training projects in cooperation with the governorate and civil society institutions, providing about 3.7m daily-wage jobs.
Gamea stressed that MSMEDA aims to double the number of small projects in Al Sharqia, as well as offer more financial and technical support services to individuals to encourage them initiate their own business.
It came during Gamea's speech at a youth conference held in Minya Al Kamh in Al Sharqia under the patronage and presence of the minister of finance Mohamed Moeit, and the governor of Al Sharqyia Mamdouh Ghorab.
According to Gamea, the authority is keen on contributing to the establishment and success of youth projects, whether through offering funding, training or marketing services, as well as facilitating the issuance of necessary licenses.
She stressed that the authority – in cooperation with various bodies of the state – seeks to achieve the ambitions of young people in terms of establishing their own productive and profitable projects that guarantee a better future.
In a related context, the authority announced launching its official website, (http://www.msmeda.org.eg) to offer its programmes and services.
The website includes a variety of options that explain the MSMEDA initiatives in supporting and funding small and micro projects, as well as the most important activities it offers to serve these projects and support them in terms of technicality, marketing, and training.
It also includes a special section for the development partners who are cooperating with the body locally and internationally, in addition to a department on the most important press events and news about the body. MSMEDA's website presents integrated reports allocated for young people who would like to enter the entrepreneurship field. These reports explain the authority's training for youth to manage projects, as well as the credit systems and mechanisms by which the authority deals with many civil society institutions, banks, and financial leasing institutions. In addition, it provides information on how to obtain non-financial services in cooperation with all the concerned bodies in Egypt.
