We aim to make an Egyptian programme 100% depending on the abilities and skills of the women technocrats: Morsi

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), in cooperation with the National Council for Women (NCW Egypt) and the Forum 50, will launch the "Women Leading the Future" programme on October 22, the first of its kind between the government and private institutions.
The programme aims at graduating women cadres qualified for leadership in various sectors of the state, within the framework of the interest of the state and political leadership in qualifying the Egyptian women for leadership.
The programme also aims at implementing a guiding system in which signatories to the agreement establish integrated training content aimed at introducing women to the concepts of advanced leadership.
According to Maya Morsi, head of NCW Egypt, the agreement is a unique model for the joint work between state institutions and the private sector for the economic empowerment of women and the preparation of a new generation of distinguished women capable of bringing about real change in the future of the Egyptian state. She added that the agreement came along with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's invitation to launch 2017 as the year of Egyptian women and the strategy of 2030, which was keen on empowering women in many axes.
She added that the programme's initial stages targets people aged between 30 and 39 years old. It will also include younger groups to prepare them for making a difference in the future.
Deputy Governor of the CBE Lobna Helal said the agreement comes within the framework of the bank's growing interest in the economic empowerment of women through granting credit facilities or non-financial services and training.
She pointed out that the existence of joint working groups between the participating parties will boost the training programme and provide effective tools that will promote leadership skills of new generations of women.
Despite the challenges facing Egyptian women, Helal noted that the current government has four female ministers, as well as a number of female deputy ministers. Egypt also witnessed the appointment of its first female governor in Beheira. Such successes reflect the country's progress in terms of women empowerment.
CEO and Managing Director of Ahli United Bank Nevin Al Misiri affirmed the bank's keenness to support all initiatives that enable female technocrats to assume appropriate positions and benefit from their experience in producing new generations of qualified leaders.
