Egypt, Tunisia exchange experiences in support of SMEs
Gamea meets Hammami to discuss means of cooperation between the two countries in the field of employment and support of youth skills

Niveen Gamea, CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development Authority met with Tunisian Minister of Vocational Training and Employment Emad Hammami to discuss means of cooperation between the two countries in the field of employment of youth and skills development.
The meeting was attended by Tunisian Ambassador to Egypt Naguib Al-Manif, along with a number of Egyptian and Tunisian officials.
According to Gamea, the meeting discussed the future plans of the authority in the field of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Egypt, how to raise their production and marketing capabilities, and how to qualify them to compete in the world markets.
She added that they also reviewed ways of cooperation between the two sides and exchanged experiences and expertise between the two sides in many areas related to small and micro projects. She stressed the interest of the two countries is to implement development programmes that help raise living standards, reduce unemployment, and raise economic standards by providing appropriate and stable jobs.
For his part, Hammami gave a presentation on the Tunisian experience in the field of employment and vocational training, praising the efforts exerted by Egypt, its vision in supporting this vital sector, and the idea of establishing an authority and its role in facilitating the work among the various agencies working in the field of small projects.
Gamea stressed the keenness of Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade and chairperson of the board of directors of the authority Tarek Kabil to support and raise the economic capabilities of the small, medium, and micro enterprises sector, to promote them, to increase their operational and production capacities, to provide more job opportunities for youth through diversification of financial and non-financial services provided by the authority to young people and entrepreneurs, and to encourage innovation.
