April 6 and Kefaya reach reconciliation
Published in Daily News Egypt on 15 - 03 - 2010

CAIRO: Coordinator of the April 6 movement Ahmed Maher and General Coordinator of the Kefaya Movement for Change Abdel Halim Qandil, who have been engaged in a war of words for over three months, reconciled their differences in a meeting Saturday at the home of Ambassador Ibrahim Youssry.
Maher and Qandil had accused each other in the media of treason and secretly working for foreign agents. Several public figures mediated the talks.
Qandil blamed local media for falsifying statements which he claims added fuel to the fire. According to Qandil, someone is determined to cause a rift between the opposition blocs.
He added that such misinformation was clarified during Saturday s meeting and that he plans to attend the sit-in organized by the youth movement in front of parliament to call for constitutional changes on April 6 this year.
We should not pay attention to rumors and efforts creating rifts between political factions at such a sensitive time in Egypt s history, Maher told Daily News Egypt.
He added that Kefaya is the brainchild of all opposition movements in Egypt, and lauded the movement s involvement with other youth groups calling for constitutional changes on April 6, 2010.
