CAIRO: Free agent Ibrahim Saied revealed that Portuguese side Vitoria Setubal made an offer to sign him. Vitoria coach watched me in action on DVDs and was convinced that I would be a good addition to his side, Saied told FilGoal.com on Tuesday. The Egyptian Football Association allowed the controversial defender to terminate his deal with Ismaili after paying LE 1 million in compensation for the club. Saied sought to leave Ismaili, the club he joined last summer, after being involved in a row with their officials over his dues. The 29-year-old, who also saw his spells with Cairo duo Ahly and Zamalek blighted by off-field problems, is now looking to resurrect his career in Europe. I don t want to play in the Egyptian league anymore. I m looking forward to playing in Europe, he stated. I m waiting for other offers from Spain, England and Germany. Saied had a brief and unsuccessful spell with English Premier League side Everton in 2003. He also played for Turkish duo Rizespor and Ankaragucu.
