Published in Daily News Egypt on 25 - 07 - 2016

Infinix Mobility, a brand of Transsion, targets to sell 1.2m to 1.5m smartphones by the end of this year. According to Andy Yan, vice president of Transsion Group, the company aims to reach average sales of 120,000 units per month during the second half of 2016.
Yan added that the company seeks to expand into the African market in 2016, beyond its presence in more than 12 African countries.
He said that Infinix achieved average sales of 35,000 to 45,000 units per month during the first months of 2016, before increasing average sales to 80,000 units per month.
The Egyptian market is one of the toughest, with fierce competition expected to become more aggressive in the coming period, since many smartphone companies are beginning to penetrate the mobile phones market in Egypt, Yan explained.
He pointed out that Infinix seeks to put smartphones on the market with performances and prices that suit all segments of Egypt's society. This will be achieved through research conducted by the company to equip mobile phones with features that adhere to various customers' requirements.
Regarding prices, Yan explained that they vary foremost on the country's economic conditions. He said that Infinix will price the smartphones from EGP 800 to EGP 2500. This price can vary depending on the stability of the US dollar exchange rate.
