Sony, Infinix, ZTE boost mobile prices in October

A number of manufacturers continued to increase mobile phone prices in October. According to the price lists obtained by Daily News Egypt, mobile manufacturers ZTE, Infinix, and Sony increased the prices of their mobile devices at ratios ranging from 1.5% to 8%.
Infinix products witnessed the sharpest increase in prices among the three companies in October, with increase ratios ranging between 6.5% and 8%. The price of the HOT 3 16GB increased from EGP 1,350 to EGP 1,458, while HOT S went up from EGP 2,240 to EGP 2,399. The price for the NOTE 3 PRO 16GB moved from EGP 2,717 to EGP 2,934.
ZTE mobile prices increased between 2.7% and 5.4%, as the price of its R550 jumped from EGP 185 to EGP 195, while the price of the A910 increased from EGP 2,799 to EGP 2,899. The company's V 7 MAX price jumped from EGP 3,899 to EGP 4,250.
Japan's Sony had the lowest ratio of price increase for its products with ratios that ranged between 1.5% and 3.5%. The price of Xperia E4 Dual went from from EGP 1,315 to EGP 1,335, while Xperia z5 premium increased from EGP 8,300 to EGP 8,499.
Huawei and Tecno increased their products' prices during September by 11%.
According to the indicators issued by GFK research institution, mobile market sales have declined domestically during the first quarter of 2016 by an estimated 7% year-on-year (y-o-y). The market's sales from January through March registered only 4 million compared to the 4.3 million mobiles sold in 2015 during the same quarter, placing market losses at 300,000 devices.
