Conscript killed close to Sheikh Zuweid police station: Security source
The incident occurred during clashes in Sheikh Zuweid between security forces and militants

A conscript was killed in Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai, close to the area's police station, a security source told Daily News Egypt Saturday.
Clashes in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid have reportedly been ongoing Saturday morning, resulting in the death of the conscript.
North Sinai journalist Ahmed Abu Deraa told Daily News Egypt that the conscript was killed during the usual security campaigns combing areas in North Sinai.
Armed forces spokesman, Brigadier General Mohamed Samir, is yet to announce the details on the incident.
Similarly, Samir announced Friday that during security campaigns in North Sinai, 12 militants were killed in two different areas in Sheikh Zuweid. On Thursday, four army personnel, three conscripts and one officer, were killed and three others were injured as a result of an explosion in Rafah.
The month of July is witnessing almost daily clashes between North Sinai militants and security personnel. According to separate statements by the army spokesman, more than 300 militants were killed during army raids.
"Islamic State" radical group affiliates, known as "State of Sinai", claim almost all the attacks targeting security personnel in North Sinai. On the first of July, the group launched a large scale attack on a number of checkpoints in separate areas in Sheikh Zuweid. The attack left 17 army personnel killed and 13 others injured.
The Sheikh Zuweid police station was temporarily under siege during the attack, however army forces were able to break the siege and regain control over the area.
The attack was followed by severe crackdown on militants in North Sinai and the armed forces' spokesman stated that "the army is in full control".
