Published in Daily News Egypt on 18 - 09 - 2013

Monday saw the African playoff draw which will decide who will receive the five African spot tickets to the Brazil 2014 world cup, during which Egypt was drawn against Ghana.
The first game between the two is set to be played in Komasi on 13 October.
FIFA regulations mandate that home fixtures be played with supporters, however, due to security concerns Egyptian football has seen the league cancelled and supporters barred from attending the stadium. It is still undecided which stadium will hold the fixture and if supporters will be allowed to attend.
The deadline to resolve the stadium that will host Egypt's home game is 20 September.
The draw also set the following teams to play each other: Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal,
Ethiopia and Nigeria, Tunisia and Cameroon, and Burkina Faso and Algeria.
The top 10 African teams who topped the stage groups were paired in contention resulting in five fixtures, to be played in two legs through which an aggregate score will decide who will advance to the World Cup.
The first fixtures are to be played between 11 and 15 October, while the second fixtures are to be played between 15 and 19 November.
The top five internationally seeded teams were paired with the bottom five seeded teams.
Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Tunisia, Ghana and Algeria were the top ranked teams while Senegal, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Egypt and Burkina Faso are the bottom seeded teams.
Egypt beat Ghana 1-0 during their last official appearance in the final of the 2010 African Nations cup.
The last world cup appearance for Egypt was in the 1990 Italy World Cup.
