Egypt Post to offer electronic tax payment services
Published in Daily News Egypt on 06 - 03 - 2013

Egypt Post will be offering a new service allowing companies and individuals to pay taxes electronically in payment centres located throughout the country beginning this month in March.
The service is part of a new programme to help ease and develop services for customers and clients.
Ayman Sadiq, president of the board of directors for Egypt Post, said that the move came was part of a modernisation initiative for all its payment services in order to keep up with international standards.
He added that the programme's standards would be agreed upon by the Egypt Post and the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) located within the Ministry of Finance.
He said the new service would be made available to individuals, companies and institutions, with 360 payment centres already having been opened and made available throughout the country. This, he said, would simplify the payment process, as companies and individuals would not be limited by their geographic location and would be able to make payments regardless of where their local tax offices were located. Efforts would also be made to speed up the process by which payments would be recorded in financier portfolios.
Clients will be given general income and sales tax payment tax registration numbers in order to make payments.
Egypt Post will determine the accuracy of taxes submitted by clients by matching them with data made available by government payment monitors and electronic collections made by the Ministry of Finance.
After payments are collected from clients, the payment centre will then inform the ETA that payment is complete.
Clients will receive their tax payment forms from the relevant post office, he added, attaching a tax declaration, picture and payment, to be mailed off through a local tax office.
